He was not re-elected because of low voter turnout. People assumed that because he was there he would win again and insted did not go out to vote the second time around.
Low voter turnout means little or no enthusiasm for a politician doing a crappy job. You know what they say about excuses....
It's very clear from the polls that city voters aren't buying all the Republican garbage about crime increasing under De Blasio. There's no evidence for that view. It's just another GOP talking point designed to make you think that only rich people are respectable, that if the middle class and poor gain a voice in the city, crime will somehow increase. As Jon Stewart has pointed out, one of the most crime-ridden sections of the city right now is Wall Street. If we look at the billions stolen from average Americans by, say, the bankers, then the police profilers should logically be stopping and frisking white guys in suits rather than black guys in hoodies.
If the poor and middle class feel they have a voice and that someone actually cares about them, then they will take pride in where they live and it will be a plus for the city. Anything that makes city life better for all -- and not just the wealthy -- will be better for Long Island.

No thats not logical, because the crimes you speak of are mainly done electronically and on paper. Lo and behold, the departments that investigate those crimes profile people who work on Wall st., as the various prosecutions show, and employ sophisticated computer experts and forensic accountants. But don't let that get in the way of your illogical rant.
In 1983 he legally changed his name to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, which he described in April 2012: "I started by putting the name into my diploma, and then I hyphenated it legally when I finished NYU, and then, more and more, I realized that was the right identity

Guess I was one of the few who showed up to vote him out the DOOR!!! The worse mayor was Dinkins - let's count the ways he helped improve relations amongst it's citizens. 1)Kotowing to the unions, 2) helped the South Korean grocers which kept getting stuck up by the surrounding upstanding citizens of the projects 3) encouraged the race-baiting between the Jews and blacks. Yeah, a real fine mayor.
Now the city is about to vote in another Dinkins! I'm waiting for the bubble graffiti to start showing up at a train station near you. Maybe he'll invite Banksy in for a cup of tea at Gracie Mansion? Can't wait for the squeegee men to make their appearance on the West Side Highway before they head over to the Meat Market district for some upscale dining followed by a sojurn on the High Line. Look for 'fros to make a comeback in the hairstyle department.
Yankel Rosenbaum, Victim of DELIBERATE Black Violence against Jews.
Gavin Cato, Victim of auto ACCIDENT.
Know the difference.
Yep, Yankel was shanked from behind by the mob mentality. You know the same upstanding citizens that rioted and pfilered from stores after the blackout of 2002?
What is going to happen when the unions demand payback (raises & benefits) and Albany won't approve a tax increase? This is going to get interesting. Get out the popcorn.

In many cases, Albany doesn't have anything to do with approving a tax raise.
Take your school taxes. Albany has no power over them. Neither does your County. It's your local School Board who approves the contract that gives the raises out like candy. Then your School District simply tells your County how much to collect.
With the LI police, Albany again has nothing to do with it. Their union works it out with the County or local politicians who raise the taxes to give them what they want.
With County workers, their union works it out with the County, who raise taxes however they see fit to meet the new expenses. Albany has no say.
I think most of the things de Blasio will do with NYC, Albany will have no control over ... until it's too late ... then maybe they will have to create a NIFA-like oversight commission.
