I need to rip out a tub with the shower enclosure and have it replaced.
Has anyone had this done or does anyone know what the approximate cost to do a job like this?
This is the only work I need done in the bathroom. Thanks

Why does it have to be ripped out and replaced? Mold, rot ?

Can you do one of those bath fitter deals, where they put a liner and walls over the existing tub and shower?

For the price of what they charge, you are better off just ripping it out.

I recently ripped out a tub and had a shower put in (tile, etc). I had to handicap the bathroom for my dad after he suffered a stroke. Found a guy on Craig's List--he charged me $2 K and that included $350 sliding doors, a new sink and vanity, grab bars, removal and haul away of all preexisting crap, etc.

PM me if you want his info... he did a great job.

He lives on on Nassau-Queens border and has done work in Long Island plenty of times. I guess it depends how far in Suffolk.

Anyhow, here's where I found him. Name is Sorin. Really nice guy; worked hard and alone and finished job in two days. Good luck.

LOl this guy did a demo of your bathroom and installed a new shower base and enclosure with tile in 2 days? Plus a vanity with sink and grab bars?

Yes; it wasn't a full demo and the bathroom isn't that big.

Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands. Troll.
