Not sure of the exact name of the store but the bagel store on grand avenue next to the movie theater in Baldwin is very good.

There's a bagel place on Main Street in Bay Shore - forget the name, maybe Main Street Bagels? - right around where you make the turn to go down to the ferry. I've always enjoyed the bagels there.

I'll save you the trouble of reading the rest of this thread, because this pops up every few weeks. Virtually every response is going to be from people who all think their local place is the best. If you're on LI, it's pretty tough to get a bad bagel. Just find a clean place with a good selection and homemade cream cheese. You're welcome.

I love bagel boss. I also liked this bagel store in East Rockaway on main street but I forgot the name. It's been 5 years since I have been there. The worst bagels IMO are dunkin donuts, the bagel Place on 111 in Islip next to the little shamrock store. Stuff A bagel is ok. A&S bagels in Franklin square is good too. open very late at night too, after a night of drinking when I was younger we would go there to eat.

LI has the worst bagels. Too rubbery. Or like a hockey puck. One or the other no middle ground.

Of all the places I've tried bagels, the ONLY ones that remind me of the bagels we got from a jewish baker in Co-Op City in the Bronx years ago is Fairway Market bagels. Nothing else even comes close, and believe me, I've tried a lot of 'em.
