I was hoping somebody will have a clear and definite answer for me:

So called General Contractor botched each and every job around the house so that we were advised to terminate him immediately as he was doing more damage than repair.
His Electrician would not release our property so that another electrician can take over. (Rough electrical was passed, however, GC later fumbled with some wiring and in at least 1 occurrence electrical is not up to code now, in our opinion; wiring was also not done to our own electrical specs).

When our contract with GC is terminated officially, does this mean that implied relationship (via GC) with electrical sub is terminated as well (Electrician holds electrical permit on the property)?

Is there a way (other than hiring an attorney, which we are doing anyway) to officially separate from electrical sub since he does not want to release our property?

Thanks!

Has the GC paid the electrician for the electrical work to date?
