Freezer bread -- yuck unless you intend to toast it. I keep a few tubes of Pillsbury biscuits and such around during the winter 'just in case'.
Most important thing to have on hand for Snowmagedon is toilet paper. LOL
I've heard other people say that about the t.p., LOL. NC had a big ice storm a few years back and people were literally stranded for days and I guess a lot of people ran out of that important commodity.
I've never had a problem freezing bread - always comes out in the same shape it went in. But the fridge is another story.
I think I'm missing something here, and maybe somebody can clarify this for me; what is it about the LIE that makes is substantially more dangerous in snow than the N/SSP? I know people got trapped on it during the last storm, but couldn't that happen on the parkways?
Nothing really. It just got the most publicity in the Feb. 2013 storm for the stranded drivers and for out of area people the "Long Island Expressway" is more recognizable than any other of our major roadways like N/SSP. Cuomo is probably about as familiar with Long Island as a guy from Kentucky is, sad to say. He's all about Albany and upstate NY, and now he is focusing outward of NYS, as he seems to have federal government aspirations. For Cuomo, his attention to LI is just soundbites and the LIE is a convenient one in this case.

That was my suspicion-- I just wanted to get clarity on it to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Actually Cuomo probably knows the metropolitan NYC/LI area better than Albany. He grew up in Queens and was my classmate at Archbishop Molloy, class of 1975.

He never spent any time on LI or has any ties to LI itself. If you look at his biography, after Archbishop Molloy he went to college at Fordham for his BA, then he went to Albany Law School, then straight to work for his father who was governor in Albany and then had a few other positions before going on to his position at HUD with no time on LI whatsoever.

Haha, that was actually the point of my question! I'd rather be on the LIE in a snowstorm than any of the parkways.
