Just bought a house last March, so I'm new to this process. When will my latest assessed value be provided? I just got a letter from yet another tax reduction service, but this time it's listing what my new value is, which is 100k over the current value.

Should I have received something in the mail from the county by now? Is MyNassauProperty accurate?

The my Nassau valuation is the one that the letters trigger off. If you look on there you can see the valuations from one year to the next.

From what I understand, the tax reduction companies shouldn't have any official numbers other than what the website reports. They were probably just estimating a new value based on your sale or similar sales. And if you think about it, a higher number only helps their case in you needing their services. Just go by the number that appears on the web - they already state the '15-'16 number and you should appeal by 3/3/14 based on that figure. https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agenc...challenge.html

The letter from the grievance company the OP was speaking about. The value that the County uses is what the reduction will be based upon not any value that the company offering the service determines your home is valued at for assessment purposes.
