I would not live in Patchogue if I had to commute to Queens. No way. Some might find it bearable, but I guess it's all relative to personal tolerances.

My commute is 30 miles to Rt. 110, and it takes me 40-50 minutes both ways via Southern/Sunrise around 8am and 5pm.

Probably because your boyfriend is the one you'd expect to do most or all of the work renovating the fixer upper, and he probably works long hours during the week.

There's absolutely nothing in OP's statement that suggests what you've inferred.

Sounds to me like someone needs to renegotiate the terms of their marriage, before the bitterness gets worse.

The OP isn't even married, she's cohabitting with her boyfriend. If you are referring to me, then you are wrong, since my wife and I both agree that we won't ever buy a fixer upper, since it's not for us.
