Any idea how I can remove these shutters without ripping them off my house? As you can see from the pictures I can't get to the main screws that screw the shutter on to the house. I also have these shutters on the second floor and can only access them thru the window unless I borrow a ladder.

Thanks for your help!

I would guess that the screw heads you see are to hold the horizontal piece to the vertical part. These type of shutters are held in place either with a clip or the screw heads are covered/painted. Use a magnet or something to see if you can identify where the screw are located.

are you sure the screw heads are completely round? The ones exposed in pic 2 don't look like they are.

I have those same ones.
the horzontal piece is a cap.
carefully pull it off to expose the screws.
I said carefully, because its just made of aluminum fluting cut into sections, and it may have sharp edges.

Thanks Buck! Reviewing the pictures again and that horizontal piece does seem like a cap. Looks like I can just grab it and slide it off, will give it a try this weekend.

Thanks for all the other response.

I'm pretty darn good! These shutters appear to be made of aluminum (none magnetic), most screw for outdoor use are galvanized steel (magnetic) you do the math........
