Poor is relative but Meadow Street adjacent to the Hempstead border comes to mind.
I see 2 homes recently closed in the 950K range on Meadow.

It’s a light hearted inside joke.
He lives in the neighborhood west of the mall, between Clinton & Washington, with the splanches/ranches.
It’s still garden city proper but because it’s not the mansions and estates it’s jokingly referred to as the poor section.
