Hi,

I always got those questions, I spot couple condo at Westbury like

130 Post Ave
242 Maple Ave

they are like 369k for 2 bedroom or over 400 for the latter one. My question is.....why is that expensive? Looks like the area is not the greatest. Is that part of westbury ok to live? Thanks.

B

Reasons for the expensiveness:

1)It's a stones throw away from the LIRR. It's ideal for commuters who don't have a car, or aren't car dependent especially for work, so they theoretically have more money to spend on an apartment.

2) It's near the main street of Westbury. That area is going through some revitalization and anything near a downtown area is going to cost more.

3) Amentities. I see a gym, pool, office center, lobby, etc. That is going to factor into the cost of rent.

All good answers. Plus, if the OP is not from Long Island, this is what things cost in Nassau County. Go a little further north in a better neighborhood and the price doubles.
