I am a beginner and want to learn boating/sailing. The Waterfront Center at Oyster Bay seems to be the closest to my home in Suffolk County and wondering if anyone has taken classes to provide a feedback?

I have not taken any classes from them, but have been considering it. I've rented small boats from them on an hourly basis and have been pretty satisfied.

The only thing is make sure to confirm by telephone with a live person. They don't update their website or their telephone message sometimes. They change their hours throughout the year and don't update the information. This past fall, the website said that they were still renting and I called to confirm, got their voice message which said that they were still renting out boats. When I got there, found out that they were no longer renting boats on weekdays.

Saliing is a lot of fun. I hope you get to do it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Got myself registered for the class on the second weekend of June.
