Just an update to this thread. State Farm is alive and well on Long Island as I received a home policy with them last year in Oceanside, NY with the local agent there-on Long Beach Rd-very helpful office. I just insured my second home with them out in Hampton bays about 1/2 mile from the water. Also have car insurance with them, which lowered the premium.

Post Sandy anyone in Oceanside, Long Beach, Island Park, East Rockaway having trouble getting homeowners insurance or seen huge hikes in cost?
