Nope...I made a mistake. I meant to type Larkfield.

Does anyone have insights on the areas south of Pulaski, north of Clay Pitts and East of Larkfield? Over by the middle school / 5th ave school? We didn't drive around there and google maps has it blocked off from street view for some reason.
I live right in that area between Larkfield and Townline but a half block below Clay Pitts so I could be in Commack schools (sorry, just feel it is a better district: better test scores and advanced regents graduates..also has full day K). It is a beautiful area, big lot sizes (most are 1/2 acres), VERY quiet streets with next to no traffic on them because they aren't thru streets. I love it here. There is also a park (Caravan Park) that isnt much (baseball field, playground and a couple walking/bicycle paths) but nice. I would say the drive to Huntington train station is about 15 minutes. Probably about 5-7 minutes to the Northport station.

You said sidewalks an issue...none here. But the streets have no traffic on them so people just walk in the street. I would say try and avoid Vine Lane, Oakledge, Atlantic, and Stoothoff as they are thru streets, but all the rest you will see no traffic at all.

Sorry to burst all of your bubbles, but anything south of Clay Pitts is Commack, not East Northport. Once you are talking as far south as Jericho, most people wouldn't consider that being anywhere NEAR Northport proper/downtown.

Me? I'd pick E. Northport any day over Commack strictly based on proximity to Northport Village/25a/Pulaski/real north shore. It just has so much to offer...a pedestrian friendly downtown offers an incredible QOL, especially Northport's where there is so much charm and history.

I've personally never felt drawn to any mid island town seeing as there are no downtown areas. it's pretty bland.

Pick a shore. You'll be much happier.

this is not completely true...there is a little area that includes greystone drive that is south of claypitts and districted to npt-enpt ufsd

Yes, especially if you like kids making t shirts making fun of rape, and one of the higher student percentages of suicide and Heroin use on LI.
