No, that was no typo.

Unfortunately my 3000 sq ft home with cathedral ceilings goes through oil like no one's business.

- $0 for 1 Year Service Plan ($129 price waived)
- Free Digital Thermostat

I thought this was good when comparing to what the other guys offered and what Petro started with ($3.19 Ceiling Rate, $3.149 First Delivery, $129 Annual Service Plan).

I am new to oil heat and we just bought our first house so I would love to hear from others with real world experience. Do you consider what I got from Petro good, average or poor as far as a deal goes?

Thx - Okinawa17

extremely cheap and a good deal.

What level service plan does that include? Is it a higher end one w/ 24/7 emergency service?

^ usually you won't need the service during the day when it's warmer. Good deal though.

Default Petro/meenan charge seperate line item

I believe Petro and Meenan are no longer giving service plans that cover you 24hrs. Or they are clearly going in that direction. I looked on their website and it shows the service plan covers you 8AM-5PM if you call after hours there is now a $98 diagnostic fee and you have to pay for the parts in addition. I would rather pay for a contract with another company and have it all inclusive for 24 hrs.
If you look on their website it clearly shows additional optional enhancements to the service plan are billed as separate line items. When I spoke to Meenan they told me if I want the 24/7 enhancement it is an additional 99.95?
ALL OF THE ITEMS BELOW ARE CHARGED AS A SEPERATE LINE ITEM ON THEIR WEBSITE
OPTIONAL ENHANCEMENTS

24/7 COVERAGE
DIRECT AND INDIRECT WATER HEATER REPAIR AND PART REPLACEMENT
OPTIONAL ZONE COVERAGE

I JUST WENT ON THEIR WEBSITE

Hey what are heating oil lock in rates going for today? Since March 18 oil prices seem to be headed up and last five weeks oil prices have shot up.

I see gas prices have jumped at pump. Anyone recently relock their old hearing oil contract?

Anyone get lucky and Lock in during March 2015?

I relocked in on April 15 with Slomins at price of $2.549 a gallon. One year term or up to 700 gallons which ever comes first. With a free contract

I was worried if oil shoots up I am out of luck. As long as oil is more money than $2.549 on my first two deliveries I will be ahead of game even if it goes down in price later in year.

I wish I got in around $2.20 back in Feb and March

Slomins does not have a ceiling plan. So kinda annoying if oil falls below that price you are screwed

Why do you opt for a contract?
