Maxillofacial Surgery (New York, Huntington, Franklin Square: insurance, mortgage, schools)

Does anyone have a recommendation for a surgeon that does this work. My friends 15 year old daughter has to have it done for health reasons. She has Aetna Insurance but the surgeon that the orthodontist recommended takes no insurance at all. Surgery alone is $20,000.

They are a hard working couple trying to raise 3 kinds on LI. They struggle to pay their mortgage and this has just hit them hard.

If you know of a good surgeon either on the Island or in the City, please let me know.

My daughter had her jaw and chin rebuilt due to arthritis. Dr. Stephen Sachs on Marcus Ave, Lake Success did a fantastic job. He and his staff were all very nice. He operates at LIJ Hospital, not sure if he has other locations.

At least in other states I've lived in, the dental schools tended to have the lowest prices. Will that be the same in NY State? You'll have to investigate this yourself.
