From Governor Cuomo's morning briefing:

Varied amounts of snow and less than predicted. LGA got 11.5 inches of snow. Suffolk County is still getting hit with snow.

All travel bans on the roads will be lifted at 8 AM. This was coordinated with NJ Governor Christie. They are still trying to coordinate with CT. Governor Malloy as the situation varies there.

The MTA is now getting its trains out. By 9 AM there should be a Sunday schedule in place. PATH service will be restored at 9 AM.

People need to check with their airlines as many flights have been canceled.

Please don't travel today if you don't have to as there is still plenty of ice under the snow. The roads are not completely clear.

Anyone have to go to work today??? My job is closed, not sure if my husband is but his boss told him not to come in anyway since he has the longest commute. I guess no one will be able to get a Subway sandwich today unless the other 2 nearby (not owned by my boss) decide to open. still blizzard like outside. Suffolk got hit harder than Nassau. We will start digging out by 11 am. Husband still sleeping LOL.

Yep. All we got in the end was a decent snow storm. But a snowpocolypse of historic proportions? not even close. Media FAIL.

Up to the bottom of cars, easily. But my neighbor is out there with his snowblower and I could see the cutouts of the path up to his thigh. This is with plows coming through too.

You know it's windy and plentiful when it gets this bad under a portico.

Shoveled a path to the snowblower to make life easier later, but holding off on using it until it stops snowing. Hard to tell how much because of all the drifts, but I'd guess around 18-20" and it's still coming down hard. I'm in Holbrook.
