I'm looking up houses for sale in Nassau, and it for the water supply and sewers it says "city." Do they have the same water as the city, or does Nassau receive its water from fire island like I know Suffolk does? Kind of confused, because I remember learning that all of LI gets its water supply from fire island.
I don't know where you heard that Long Island/Fire Island water supply theory, but in fact Long Island gets all its water from aquafers located hundreds of feet under ground. If you look around most of the Island you will spot water "towers", which store water that is pumped from thousands of wells all over both Nassau and Suffolk, and in small parts of Queens. In real estate speak, "city" water is water that is supplied by a municipal well, as opposed to a private well.
