I am considering moving to Mineola. There is a commuter parking permit for residents and I am wondering how full are the residential parking lots around 7:30am? If the parking lots are full, is there street parking?
Also, on the LIRR are seats readily available or are most people standing the whole way to Penn Station a that time?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
I can't speak to the resident lots...they aren't very large so you may be lucky getting in just before 7.30am. The intermodal lot (open to the public @$6 per day) has abundant parking until about 8.15 when you might have a tough time finding a spot.
I always get a seat on the trains 7.47am and before, even the 8.04 and 8.07 is not an issue. Great commute as far as the LIRR goes.

I haven't lived there since late 2011 I was in the village and parked in the Mineola lot not the intermodal lot it was $50 a year. I usually got to the lot at 8-810am and not once in 2 years did ever have any issues parking at all.
