Herricks is a great school district, but it is a combination of multiple areas. Manhasset, Manhasset Hills, Searingtown, Albertson, New Hyde Park, Roslyn Heights, North Hills, Williston Park all have parts in the Herricks school district. The house prices vary depending on which area you are in.

If you have any comments you willing share with me please do so. I am very flexible on areas. I'm open to other areas.

I was in your shoes two years ago, I being cheap wanted to live in Mineola because you get more bang for the buck compared to buying in New Hyde Park (Herricks) and the school district was not too bad. But my wife's number one priority was school district so we ended up in Herricks. I have two kids that go to Center Street school and they absolutely love it.

The commute is 45 minutes to Penn Station from Mineola station, about an hour for me door to door. But be prepared to pay $6.00 a day for parking unless someone can drop you off. There is outdoor parking for $5.00 as well.

We ended up on a nice block with great neighbors, lots of kids on my block.

If you have any other questions feel free to pm me, we moved from Queens so I know what you are going thru.

Williston Park is a great little town. I grew up there, and still have plenty of family there who raised their own families there. It's a great little community that has that small hometown feel. Heck, it should have a small hometown feel...it's only .07 mile wide. If Herricks is your choice of schools...your budget will get you small cape on the west side of willis ave.

Herricks is an awesome school district so you don't have to worry about that. I do not consider Mineola a bad area and houses near Mineola have good resale value so don't worry about that as well. Like other posters have said, Herricks school district has multiple neighborhoods feeding into it from starter homes in New Hyde Park/Albertson/Williston Park that sell from around $450K to houses in Manhasset/Searingtown/Manhasset Hills/North Hills where houses sell for $1.5 million. It all just depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend.
