For those that live in the Islip's you will know what I am talking about. For the past few years I have been seeing this 1967 Plymouth that's red, it looks like it's falling apart, dented, the sheet metal looks like it's flapping off. It runs and drives. My husband used to see it in the mid 1990's. We laugh when we see it but at the same time we like the car and picture what it would like restored. We are into old cars. We call it the flappy car. I was wondering if anyone knows who owned/owns this car and how long it's looked like this. The guy that drives it now looks to be somewhere in 40-50 year old range. I wish I took a picture of it but I never have a camera on me.

Too funny. I spoke briefly to him coming out of Astoria Bank a couple months ago. I remarked my first car was a '65 Fury III and he had a one of a kind classic and he laughed. Last I saw it was behind EI Library.

Funny at the oceanside train station someguy in a timewarp around late 50s has his college camaro rusted to bit with college parking stickers from 1982 and 1983 rusted to bits with heavy metal stickers on it thing is a bomb.

So Sandy hits all the cars destroyed. This guy moved the rust bomb and survived. He parks on street so neighbors have been looking at it for 30 years.

What possessed him to move it when Sandy hit. And if he likes it clean it

I am glad someone else besides my husband, and My neighbor knows this car. Is this guy an elderly guy or middle aged? I am curious how long he's owned it and if he bought it like that. I have seen it coming down Irish Lane and also in the parking lot of Islip Middle school.

Oh my...that car is famous along Montauk Hwy....how can it not be. That car's been around for years. I'm 55 and I'd say he was about my age. So....do you consider that elderly or middle aged is the question.

Middle aged. I am 44 when I said elderly I meant 75 and up. Did you ever find out how long he has owned the car??I wonder how it passes inspection looking the way it does.
