So we are trying to decide what to do with floors in our new place on the second floor (bedrooms). It used to be carpeted -- and I removed most of it by this point... what I exposed was old pine floors that are not in very good shape...
so I was thinking trying out cork floors .. does anyone have any experience with it ? Or knows someone who can do a quality installation ?
Also if I am to go hard wood -- who is the good reliable person to do the install and give an honest opinion if pine under carpet can be recovered? (We are in Centerport)
We have Bamboo flooring and went to Lumber Liquidators. The guy that installed our flooring we lost touch with him. Anyway I love the floors. I never heard of cork flooring. Laminate flooring can be good too. My boss's daughter has it throughout her house and she said it held up better than any wood flooring she had in the past. She also has two kids and it seems to withstand toys being dropped on the floor. The only downside to bamboo is it does scratch but then again most wood floors do. I recommend putting those felt pads under your chairs and couches. I have had mine 4 years. I would not go back to carpet. It takes a lot to make a scratch or nick in the wood.
