So, i've been dealing with the seller of a home that i'm interested in buying. It's been a 1.5 since my offer has been accepted. Still waiting for contract to be signed and returned by seller, it's been 2 weeks and counting. At what point do you say Moderator cut: language removed

Can you read what you wrote and correct it because it seemingly contradicts itself.

How bad do you want the house?
How good of a deal is it?
What does your attorney think? Most RE attorneys know each other; can't one light a fire under the other's arse?

Has your offer been accepted in writing? It's not really a deal until you have a signed contract and money has been exchanged.

What does you lawyer say? Maybe s/he can push the issue, or at least give you an idea what the problem is. What do the real estate agent say? They did their job and are expecting a commission.

At two weeks of delays, I'd say it is close to the point where you should _consider_ walking away. Talk to your lawyer about the best options.

You should discuss it with your attorney. He should be able to find out what the delay is about. I could be as simple as the other attorney being away on vacation.

It's a good deal.
My attorney thinks there's something wrong. He thinks it's wise to walk now because if it's this much trouble getting the place into contract, it'll be equally as troublesome during closing. Our request to ask for reasoning behind the delays have been ignored.

Sounds like it may be a short sale.
