Well, many people, including myself, like them even without a view. Winter is so crappy that having the chance to have dinner outdoors in Summer time is worthy in itself. Although with a view, obviously better.
Another one, Boat House Water Side Cafe in Glen Cove. Marina views. We went in 2014, and it was nice. We didn't have the best service (our waiter disappeared and no one was assigned to our table for while) but we'll go again for a second chance as we hope that might have been a rare case.
When I don't feel like cooking dinner, the Dining District at Roosevelt Field is a great choice. Pop in, everyone chooses what they want and we sit outside. I go midweek so seating is never an issue, easy to do with the little ones in tow.
Any of the restaurants on the Nautical mile in Freeport will have outdoor deck seating. My husband and I don't care for eating outside. If it's hot I want to be inside where the A/c is plus I don't want mosquitos biting me.
Kasey's in RVC also has a rooftop area. Wish they had it when I was younger and went out with my friends.
