Hi guys,
I'd like to replace my broken sliding door to a french in-swing hinge patio door. Current opening is 95.5" by 96" so about 8' by 8'. Please kindly provide advice on where to go on LI to get the best deal for the buck and not be stuck with a lemon.
I had Renewal by Anderson come to give me a quote - the salesperson was truly crazy. He quoted me $17k for the door - double door with 2 sidelights and installation! Crazy! When I said it's an outrageous price, he wouldn't leave my house.
Then I had Windorama come in and quote me $10k for same double door with sidelights and installation (also an Andersen door)
Then Pella rep quoted me $4700 no installation
And home depot quoted me $6800 for Wincore door (same double with sidelights) and more $ for Andersen.
Where can I go to get a better price but still get a decent door?
This will seem obvious but the door is the door regardless of price. You need to be very careful with whom you choose to do the install. I know a few people who have chosen Wendel in Mineola and were pleased but this is a bout 3 - 5 years ago.
Another question, if I buy Andersen Door from Window Palace (sells to builders/ contractors/Designers) who don't install, and then hire my own installer, does it void the warranty
