San Rocco Church in Glen Cove is hosting it's annual Italian feast this weekend, and we went today for the first time. I never knew there was such a family oriented, close Italian-American community in Glen Cove. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. The food, well, all of it was cooked and served by the ladies of the parish, and let me tell you, everything I had from dinner to deserts and coffees was outstanding. None of it had that catered food taste. Not that that is a bad thing, it just was all so good and thorough and we had a great time. There was a petting zoo for the little ones and Bob's Reptile Jungle from Centereach was there, too. It had a NYC feel about it, without the worry of mobs of criminals ruining everyone's good time. I encourage anyone who's considering it to go, you'll be glad you did.
