My son is learning swimming and I want to bring him to swimming pools besides taking courses. I've been to the pool in Mastic Beach, which is nice but too far away (I'm in Smithtown). Does anybody know indoor swimming pool that is open to the public and good for kids (near Smithtown, Islip, Huntington, ...)? Thanks.

The only one I can think of that allows a daily fee is Echo Park in West Hempstead. Huntington has a Y but I doubt they allow you to pay a daily fee.

Try a local gym that has a pool. I wouldn't send my enemies to Echo Park (not to mention it's pretty far from you).

Pretty sure you have to be a Town of Hempstead resident to use Echo Park. Cantiague is closer but I think you have to be a Town of North Hempstead resident to use it. All pretty far from Smithtown. There must be something in Suffolk. What about the Y in Commack? But you would have to join.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I found a Y in Hicksville, will try to find out if it's convenient for family swim.
