Anyone else noticed the abundance of “foot massage”’places opening on the island? I had my suspicions that these are really Yanky Cranky shops and my suspicions were confirmed by a bartender yesterday. She said her patrons will often disappear for a bit, leave their stuff at the bar, and go next door for a “foot massage” and be back 15 minutes later. She also heard that women who have tried going there for an actual foot massage are turned away.
How entrepreneurial. Another mark in the “plus” column for diversity I guess.

I'm sure the authorities will close them down once its discovered they are operating a business beyond the scope of their permit. Can't have them avoiding paying the correct taxes to the town....
One of them was shut down in East Islip about 1 year ago for doing foot massages and more....LOL. I had heard it from the Fed-ex guy who delivers to my job. He delivers to a computer place next to it and saw that it closed down and asked the owner of the computer store what happened. Now next to the subway in Islip there's one too. But I can assure you they only do foot massages. They have been there almost 2 1/2 years.
Lake Ave here in Saint James had 0 foot massage places 4-5 years ago when I moved in. Now there are two. I walked into both asking for price of a foot massage. The one called Sweet Foot Spa says, we don't do foot massages. Only whole bodies. This places doesn't even bother to purchase chairs to pretend they do foot massages.
The other place two blocks up at least has a row of chairs lined up for people to sit down for a foot rub. But they don't do it either. They ask you to go lie down on the tables and get a full body instead.
You can't shut them down. They'll reopen within a month and rotate the workers.
There's a legit one by me... unless I'm just not asking them the right questions.....
Just roll on to your back with some wood. That should tell you if they are legit. It could get you happy, or locked up.
