Any guess of when this store will be out of business. Beautiful store but there is never anyone in it. Prices are too high for the area.
The location in Woodbury fares well, but, in my experience, Fresh Market stores located in the South fare much better, as, there's less supermarket choice, and, the supermarkets are not competing with other speciality grocers like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.
Some of their food is clearly overpriced, some of their store brand organic items are reasonable. They also offer sales on a lot of their prepared meat products throughout the week, you just have to time it right.
I think the quality of their meat and fish is excellent and prices are not too bad. Every time I'm in the store there is a steady flow of people, but it's never crowded.
They are not going to last. Their prices are not competitive enough and their products are not unique enough, and there are just too many supermarkets nearby. Watch the prices that ring up... Oftentimes they are different from the sticker price.
Love Fresh Market the one by me here in NC is always packed....can't believe it's considered too pricey in an area like Smithtown. Can barely get in the door around the holidays.
We have Whole Foods and Trader Joes's too by the way.
