People complain about the Optimum/FiOS oligarchy, but at least that's a better situation than an Optimum monopoly.

Monopoly, oligarchy, idc. It's not available in my area despite it being wired for it. It's all the same to me.

Agreed. All the same. They are basically the same price. I'm surprised there is no other option for Nassau County.

Some of Brookhaven has FiOS internet only - it got rolled out before Verizon pulled out because they didn't want to have to commit running fiber to ALL of Brookhaven. No TV though.

I had it in Setauket and it blew away Cablevision - no slowdowns and only two outages in 8 years. One was a hardware issue and one was Sandy. I got internet back before cable tv.
