Where do I go to pay property tax (Hempstead, Bellmore: attorney, buying a house)

Buying a house in Bellmore. Did not go with an option to pay taxes along with my mortgage. Can anyone advise where do i go to pay taxes directly? Thanks

Your RE agent should also be able to assist you.

Town of Hempstead, Franklin St. The people there are NASTY, and you're better off never having to even see them, let alone speak with them.

The address is:

200 N Franklin Street
Hempstead NY 11550

The school tax is due Nov 10th and May 10th

The General Tax is due August 10th and Feb 10th

They have a drive through window and extended hours as well between the 1st and the 10th of each month that the payment is due (or at least they did).

The information # is 516 538 1500

Good luck on the new home.

Also - very important - sign up for the STAR program to reduce your taxes - will probably save you $1,400.

Sign up with one of the Tax Grievance companies and "grieve" your taxes every year (or do it yourself online).
