Yes, true, I like what they've done there with the store rehabs and the new development. Good call.

If I could only pick one, it would be East Hampton.

Default Northport

I have to say that Northport must rank among the top. The cute shops, decent restaurants, entertainment, bakery, delis, toy stores, candy stores, combined with the park and its bandstand/gazebo right at the bay. I love it.

Nice little town on the north fork Off New Suffolk Rd called "Love Lane" its like going back 1950's.
To bad the town is an enclave of racists, redneck Archie Bunkers.
What the hell is a Polish breakfast & gritscakes ??

Huntington, Northport, and Port Jefferson (but I'm biased toward the North Shore )

Huntington gets my vote, but I'm biased. Northport is nice and all, but it just doesn't have amount of options that HV offers.

Love the stores in Cold Spring Harbor!

Babylon looks nice, but I've only driven through, never actually stopped in town.

Babylon was always great, growing up in West Islip, Babylon was a hop, skip and a jump to Babylon. Sayville is another great downtown, followed by Port Jefferson.

I just visited my hometown of Amityville village recently and I was delighted how nice the downtown area still is. I have not lived on Long Island in over 20 years and this was my first visit back to Amityville in nearly 10 years. Although some of the shops I frequented as a kid are gone, the downtown still offers a nice mix of stores and restaurants. Amityville even has a great new record/cd shop on Merrick Road. I miss LI!!
