Hi

I am relocating to Long Island (work is near Great River). I want to be <25 minutes and am looking for a nice town with a a good Main Street, boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants and not too far from a good supermarket, target etching for weekend runs . Will be looking for a nice apartment or house for rent.

Am a single female in her midn30s, so safety is important.

Any recommendations on towns I should be looking at that might be good fits?

Thank you!!!!!!

A lot of revitalization going on in Patchogue and close to Great River.

Sayville has all that.

Basically everything in that area is just fine.
Great River, Islip, E & W Islip, Sayville, Oakdale, Bohemia, Bayport, all good. All easy commute.

Sayville is probably safer but Patchogue has a lot of new housing (apts and condos) and more to do (theater, restaurants)

I'd recommend Bayshore or Patchogue over Sayville.

Sayville has more day life (shops and boutiques), where Bayshore and Patchogue has more night life (bars and restaurants).

I might even argue that Patchogue is more walk-able. Where's the closest apartment to Main St in Sayville, Brookwood (0.8mi)? Patchogue has New Village which is ON main st. (0.0mi)

I recommend you do your due diligence and check out all areas with stops on the LIRR Babylon/Montauk Rail Line near Great River > Babylon, Bayshore, Islip... Patchogue.

FWIW I live in Patchogue Village so I am biased. Lots of people our age here.
