I understand that generally you'll only get a school bus if you're a certain distance away from the school. But I was told New Hyde Park school district does not provide school bus at all, regardless of your distance from the school.

Is this true?

I believe NYS law requires school buses so I doubt this is true.

Why wouldn't you call the school district and ask?

Distance varies and in smaller towns if school is in middle of town very few get a bus.

So I called the New Hyde Park school district and was told Manor Oak elementry does not have bus service. The assigned middle/high school is NHP Memorial High and that falls under Sewahaka school district, I was transferred there and I left a voice mail but haven't heard back from them.

I wish there's a site such as for NYC public schools where you can enter the address and find out what the zoned elementary, middle and high schools. Zillow is not accurate sometimes and I have to call individual schools every time we look into a house.
