That's really odd! I went in and checked; I now come up with the same airfare. I had to tweak a flight time because I would need to arrive earlier in the day on 5/19. Even with the tweak it isn't crazy. If I change to the 6 AM flight 3348/3250 , RT 2 people is now $591.94

Not sure if this is direct but if it involves a change at BWI you truly want to take the earliest flight as BWI is notorious for not having available gates for incoming flights. As day goes on you can sit on tarmac for 30 minutes waiting for one to open.
Interesting points... I guess when four airlines control 85% of all flights, pricing doesn't need to relate to the cost of fuel.
Of course! It's a simple matter of supply and demand - the demand stays the same and the airlines manipulate the supply of seats. It was not that long ago that people on these boards were actually in favor of the mergers and consolidation and were so sure the public would benefit. Maybe it's time to dredge up those old conversations and see what they have to say now.
Has anyone here used Airtran between Jamaica and JFK? Any feedback, advice?
Yes, we use it all the time. Very easy. When you get off the LIRR just go upstairs for the Airtrain. It can be a long walk to some of the terminals once you get to JFK but they do have moving sidewalks along the way.

JetBlue is far too. If you're going to use the Airtran you do need to leave yourself time on that end.
