A NY primary for congressional candidates is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28th, 2016. However, it appears that several candidates have no primary opposition. For example, Charles Schumer is up for reelection, but he has no Democratic contender, hence no primary there. Likewise, other parties have put forward only one person each. Wendy Long is in the race as the sole Republican.
---
Some congressional districts and some parties will have active primaries. In the Second Congressional District, Peter King, has no opposition from a Republican. Nor does DeWayne Gregory have an opponent on the Democratic line, but rather a opponent for the Independence Party. Maybe all the precincts of the Second CD will have to be open for that minor party contest.

Doesn't matter. Long Islanders..and NYers are lemmings. They **** and moan yet re-elect the same garbage over and over. Probably because neither side presents a viable opponent. How many years has Upchuck Schumer been reeling his ugly mug behind a podium on Sundays spewing about mindless drivel?

The real crime of this is that unless something has changed since I left LI, they will have to hire several poll workers, A Dem and a Rep chair, a Dem & Rep Poll Coordinator and for each, at least one, Inspector. The average pay is about $200 per worker, so for each poll opened that is a lot of $$ spent for no one to come out and vote.
