Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a home in Valley Stream that has a basement, and am wondering:

1. I see that permits are required for construction within Valley Stream, but do they require that the masonry / contractor be also "Valley Stream Licensed?" I see that this is a requirement for Electrical and Plumbing, but there's no mention of it for other work.

2. If a "Valley Stream licensed" masonry / contractor person is required, any recommendations for such a contractor?

(I'm aware of how strict the Village is, so I'm looking to do everything legit.)

Many thanks in advance!

I think it's just electrical and plumbing. Call the village. When I did my work, all they needed was that my general contractor be licensed in Nassau county, with evidence of insurance and workers' comp.
