A "stain on LI" would be something that LIers supported but turned out to be a very bad thing to do, like carpeting the island in one continuous, over-populated suburban development.
Not necessarily. In this case, think more along the lines of a stain on one's character. (Not that we don't have enough stains.)

That's to what I was referring. The Orlando shooter's actions are not the result of what LI is about and, therefore, isn't responsible for or stained by his actions.
It could only be stained as the result of the LI community acting together to bring some negative thing to fruition.
I'm just making this point because LI detractors are often quick to characterize LI by those nefarious people with some LI connection....as if we, as a community, are somehow responsible.

That's my point. As soon as it gets out that he was raised on LI, detractors will look to blame LI in some way, shape, or form, despite the fact that his behavior was not nurtured by any Long Islanders.
He will be yet another stain, albeit unearned, upon us.

I heard he spent most of his time at Gracie's eating bread pudding and cheering on the Rocky Point cheerleaders.
There have been suggestions that he may have been gay. Would the virgins he met in death be male or female?
He was confused about his sexuality. He did not know whether to be straight or gay hence the reason he's married. His parents being Muslim would not accept this at all. BTW his wife helped him get the guns.

Yes, he was born in New Hyde Park, but his mental illness had nothing to do with Long Island or anyplace else he lived. As details about his jerky family become clearer, why would anyone blame Long Island or Orlando? Makes no sense to me.
LI is fertile and diverse. We make murderers, tabloid freaks, superstar singers and actors, crooked politicians, millionaire cops and teachers and solid young baseball pitchers. That's why we make, errrr pay the big bucks!

Pretty much. You can't treat stupidity these days.
