Anyone know if a decently priced document shredding service on long island? Location is in Nassau but I would be willing to drive out to Suffolk if it makes sense financially.

I have about 15 kitchen garbage bags full of paper that has to be shredded securely and I dont have the time to shred with a tiny residential shredder.

One place quoted me $20 per bag so it will cost about $300 to shred everything. Is this the norm? Anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Here in Suffolk I have seen a town sponsored shredding event as well as a local annual shredding event at our library. Perhaps your town or library offers the same?

Town of Hempstead's next one is July 31 in Levittown. Free for ToH residents. You don't say what town you are in. But call your town & ask. They all do it these days for free with ID showing you live there. Not sure if there is a limit though. You can call & ask. They do this several times a year. https://toh.li/sanitation-department/e-cycling

This will be interesting. I just moved to the city but inherited a house in ToH. ID shows the city. I can show tax statements showing I've paid. Think that will work?

I found out Fed-ex locations do this for 99 cents a pound. I called then one in Ronkonkoma and they do it. Go online to Fed-ex.com and find a location near you and ask if that location offers document shredding. I have a shredder at home but it takes so long and only shreds about 3 papers thick. Took me 2 hours to shred 100 papers. I am cleaning out my file cabinet and plan on using the services at fed-Ex. I'd like to go completely paperless with all of my bills. Did you call the company Shred-it? I don't have as many documents to shred as you do maybe 1 garbage bag full. I try and shred documents a few times a year when it gets full.

Yes..was going to mention that but this one is free. And 15 garbage bags full will cost a fortune. Check your towns website. JUst about every town has shredding events. Free.
