Theres a bunch of used car dealerships on middle country in Centereach. I bought my first car there and it was in great shape for the year. Mid Island auto sales? or something to that nature. It's a small place but everything they have is well kept. Pretty sure it's still there.

How "used" do you need it? My MIL's car is for sale as she can no longer drive. Its in great condition for a car that has over $100K miles, but its a small 4 door compact sedan. We have it listed for sale for under $ 500. Only has had 1 owner since it was bought new. PM me for details.

OP, if you care to PM me, I'll put you in-touch with a friend from whom I've bought all of my vehicles for the last 20 years. (I just recently had him bring me down two, to where I live!). I know he currently has few older Jeep Grand Cherokees. He deals mostly in trucks and SUVs, but often will have a car or two, or can often get you what you want. His deals are unbeatable. (He sold a pick-up to one of my neighbors down here, ten years ago. The guy has put 100K miles on it, and could sell it today for what he paid for it!)

Craigslist.
Just western Union the seller the money and they will have the title and keys in your mailbox the next day, and they will even let you try the car for a week and if you don't like it you get a refund.

Stay away from used car dealers they all lie and play games. One is worst than the next. Good luck it is not easy.
