Yes, Long Islanders. And I disagree about NYC kids. They are absurdely sheltered, just in a different sense. They don't know what a tree is. I feel bad for city folk.

A two-state concept been discussed ad nausea. As already mentioned, it is simply not going to happen.

Long Island on its own... impossible.

Proposals along these lines include NYC and Long Island along with Westchester. Depending on the group proposing, another county or two is added in the mix. Areas north of that simply lump LI in with NYC (which is correct to some degree). From a geographical standpoint, it isn't practical to include LI with upstate.

There is a movement to split the state into two administrative districts. On a federal level would would still have one "New York." Within the state, the architects of the idea claim that each area would effectively be two separate states.

As crazy as it sounds, the two-district concept is the only feasible one (and that is an extreme long-shot). Even if (big if) NY could generate the necessary support among voters AND get the law makers to put it up for vote... it still needs congressional approval. It is generally agreed that congress would never allow two more Senators from the Northeast. Thinking is that we have too many already.

Can we join CT as a part of CT? We can build a bridge to bridgeport. Ferries already going back and forth. We can declare ourselves as an island off CT.

Better yet, let's deport the entire population of LI aside from a percentage of people that I personally vet and deem worthy to live here. AND build the wall.

Not to worry, the wall will keep the spirits from Mt. Misery road away from you. But if you leave the compound the vortex might get you.
