Honestly if you can muster about $50 plus tax and whatever the corrupt taxi companies decide to charge you extra for, just cab it. Especially if you have luggage. It's not the most economical way but it'll get you there in 30 minutes rather than a few hours. Or try UberPool. It'll take a little longer but be cheaper than a regular taxi and will still take less time than the train and bus.

Such a shame that the greatest city in the world has such lackluster, inaccessible airports. JFK has the airtrain, but La Guardia needs an easier public transport path for those who don't live in Queens.

It's really hard to believe that eventually there will be rail access to LaGuardia but it will be a totally separate system than the JFK Airtrain when it would be logical to add a northern leg of the Airtrain from Jamaica to LaGuardia allowing direct Air/Rail connections between both airports and tying both to the LIRR and the subway system.
