Someone mentioned manufactured and modular homes and I realized - I don't know a thing about them.
Has anyone had any experience with these on Long Island and provide any guidance?
On the outside seems like another cheap alternative for living on tight budgets but after learning about all the moving fees involved in trailers and land rentals I didn't know about - I'm wondering just how good a deal these little modular/manufactured homes really are.
you may want to specify, the terms manufactured or modular is more closely associated with a factory built ( wooden framed home, but built in a facotry and shipped to site in peices and then assembled ). I assume you are talking about trailer park style mobile homes?
Many of the options I look at seem to not operate in New York. Probably too much code hassle and red tape. I don't think modulars are allowed at all in Nassau County except for commercial use or as a shed, but I'm not sure and I'm not looking it up! lol
There are several modular homes being erected in Sandy damaged neighborhoods. If you are really interested I'd walk around the west end of long beach and see for yourself.
Totally legal here. They are popping up all over. Good luck picking one out from a regular site built home.
