...you have the best libraries in the whole world! They are rich enough to be able to afford [at least] 21 copies of Sing Street on Blu-Ray at a single branch!

Library tax is part of the school tax, but it is only ~$500/year out of the $11,000.

Library tax is a rip off.
I don't never use no stinking library. Never ever.

Seriously though...Make them for profit. You want to use it, you pay for it. Charge an admission fee or rental fees.
Why should I pay 900 bucks a year for something I never use or never will use.
My library days are looong gone.

Ok so should people who have no kids stop paying taxes toward the schools your kids use? Should those who've never delt with the cops stop paying taxes to fund the county police?

And why should I pay 10,000 a year for school taxes for something we never use? I'd rather get ripped off for $900 than ripped off for $10,000 any day.

We don't never use no stinking public schools. Never ever. Our school days are looong gone.

Police, fire, schools and sanitation should be pay as you go. Like the post office. We could buy education stamps, burglary resolution stamps (which might be priced differently than defense against a murderer stamps), garbage stamps (one stamp per item of trash will cut down on waste), etc.

That way people without children and people who burn their own trash close to the property line won't have to pay for services they don't use. You might need a trash burning stamp come to think of it. That way neighbors would have something to report on. This concept could really go places. Plus, unions. Right?

Depends on the district, not all are a part of the school tax.. There are many many seperate library districts
