If you are that concerned call the Town of Hempstead and ask if it is a legal rental, if not report it. Be prepared to find a new place to live.

LOL...read my comments in another thread about illegal apts. This problem is getting worse on ALL of LI right now. Stopping it right now is going to be very ,very hard. But posting here will not help you. Call the TOH. But it is a huge home 12 rooms 6 BR. Can imagine what it is used for. That is the landscape of LI right now.

We will be seeing more of this in the coming months.

I am thinking a few things. Either OP lives there & is a disgruntled tenants paying very little for a room with no other choices & want to out them...not that posting here helps. If that's the case reporting it will make OP homeless. Or someone that lives on block & thinks here is the place to report it. But rooming home like this are going to become very visible in the coming months.

Look it up on this website
https://lrv.nassaucountyny.gov/

If it says Single Family home, then it's illegal
Multi family and it's legal.

I doubt it is legal in Elmont

Even if it is listed as multi-family that does not mean the way they are using it to rent out is "legal".

If the owner is renting rooms to individuals. Or in many cases these days COTS. Yes..they do that! They will put like anywhere from 2 -10 cots per room...more in the basement. Then rent the cots to illegals. That is what we call illegal rooming houses. Or the term many use "flophouses". Where they rent to individuals & pack as many in as they can. Most of the time none of the people renting these rooms..or beds know each other at all. So they live in a home full of strangers. NOT legal...set up. Bet this is set up like that.

Look up this term. Cage Homes.

These are how they live in Hong Kong. And Flushing,Queens is loaded with these types of set ups! Yes...people in Hong Kong rent small metal cages...like we put animals in! And they as humans live in them. They are used to living like that in Asian countries. So when they come here they have no problem living like that. Same for the illegals. They are used to living in squalor in their own countries. Sad.

So they are used to living in tight unsafe, unsanitary conditions. And that is what the way they are living in homes like this OP is talking about. And like we all know they are living like that in places like Brentwood,Crimedanch,Riverhead, Bay Shore,Good old Westbury too.

[quote=Concernedindividual;45617977 more than 3 apts in a single famil) house land Lord only collects cash for rent..its time these landlords stop the nonsense..[/QUOTE]

Well. Want to stop these types of rooming houses?? They rent rooms to illegals for CASH. Wanna bet everyone that lives there is here illegally?

CALL TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD & report it. Posting here will do nothing at all. And a mod already edited your OP to remove address.....so you should have NOT posted it again!

And if she gets elected we will see much more of this type of thing happening all over LI. If you vote for him...these types of rentals will hopefully start going away 1 by 1.

Like I said already. You are waiting your time here. Guess Nuts2uiam is right in her comment. You can't report it & are probably just a disgruntled tenant that either lives in this home too...because probably it was the only room you can find to rent in your budget...but if you report it...place gets busted & you are now homeless.

Am I correct here? Bet u will not answer. Or you can't report it for fear of retaliation. Or deportation if you are renting one of the rooms. As people that rent rooms in homes like that live there because it is cheapest they can find. No one else will rent to them. And the people that rent in those settings usually have no verifiable income on paper. Because they can't work on the books here in USA as they have no Social Security numbers.

These Landlords/ Owners often buy up home like this & do not live in the neighborhood. The home is just an investment for them & part of their portfolio. They don't care that is destroys the community around these homes. They just want the cash. Which they get lots of by renting rooms out. And many times just space too.

Hopefully soon...in Nov...then Jan. we will see this type of thing stop..or at least lessen a bit

But OP if you are really concerned...posting here will do nothing. The right people will not see it.

You have to report it to the Town of Hempstead....

And just work odd jobs that pay cash & ask for no ID at all.
