I am about to put up a shed. Does anyone know offhand how from from the property line it must be. It is a small 7x7'shed. I looked at TOB code website but could not find it, though, I am sure it is there somewhere.
How far does my shed need to be from the property line?
If your shed is in the rear yard and does not require a permit, it needs to be at least three feet from the property line. If it is in the side yard, it must conform to zoning setbacks (see yard diagram on back).

You don't need a permit as you probably know.
But setback depends on location; they asked me for Section, Block and Lot which I obviously couldn't provide. Call 516-624-6200; they're usually very helpful.
Small storage sheds. On any lot in an R1-6, R1-7, R1-10, R1-10/OHG, NB, CB or GB District, a storage shed of 100 square feet or less may be erected in the rear yard but must be set back at least three feet from any lot line and must not be closer to any street than the setback of the principal dwelling.
