According to Newsday, besides receiving bribes and kick backs, he had the audacity to give himself a $17,000 increase last July.

eh, give him break. How else do you expect him to afford the crazy property taxes on LI?
Then there's Gary Melius and Oheka Castle and him getting shot a few years ago on his way to lunch with Al D'Amato. Melius seems to be tied into a lot of stuff on LI but whether anything will come of it is questionable.
I might "disappear" after spilling this but...a very close friend of mine is part of the Nassau machine. He is kinda new. Anyway, he was basically sat down and told not to rock the boat and how things work when he was first elected. The Nassau political machine is more corrupt than anyone could possibly believe. Both parties, they're in cahoots together. It's downright frightening. So yeah, that's that.
Hey, Karl. There are whispers at Open Nassau that the machine is under pressure and worried. Did your friend have anything to say about that?
The machine is like a crime syndicate that employs generations of whole families regardless of qualifications. For example, Kate Murray gave out high paying jobs to her father and inlaws. It operates like a big sprawling welfare agency for unemployable friends and relatives. What illegals get here is nothing in comparison to the way the machine rakes in taxpayer dough.
Good old family values Republicans. When I saw the front page of NEWSDAY, I thought John Gotti was back? Why is everything in long island run like the Mafia and how do I get one of these no show jobs?
