Has anyone out there received a NYS rebate check for either property tax freeze credit or property tax relief credit ( the latter being $130 for downstate) ?
I'm pretty confused about what I have read. Certain websites say the credit is deducted from our (upcoming) tax bills, other sites say we will be issued one check for both credits.
I have not received anything yet (Town of Huntington).

That Newsday article is a mess. It conflates the small $130 rebate with the regular STAR credit. But it's correct that if you purchased your home after Aug 2015 like I did, You get a rebate check rather than having the credit simply taken right off your taxes. I haven't gotten my check yet and it's really frustrating, since it's a pretty decent amount for me.

You also get a check if you purchased your home between May 1, 2014 and August 1, 2015, and
bought your home after the 2015 STAR application deadline, or you did not apply for the STAR exemption on your home by the 2015 application deadline.
It is frustrating, as I am waiting for a fairly substantial sum too.
What's going on? Has anyone received a star check? I bought home in January. Applied with Islip town immediately, then applied again on website. The reps when I called said I hadn't replied until summer, and that I'd get check at end of year...
