Hot water heater used for zone heating for bedroom

No, this was a separate 50 gallon tank installed just for the purpose of heating one room. The plumber's proposal I have now it to replace both tanks with a boiler so I have on demand hot water as well as a proper source for heating.

The original plumber who did this was a subcontractor for a company I had worked with before and had some level of trust with. They're licensed and have been around for awhile, unfortunately I still got burned on this one.

I dont know why they just didn't add another pump or zone valve off the existing system. Do you know why?

And why would you have to redo the whole system? Just get rid of that tank and do what I said above.
