I was interested in a house for sale in Melville a few months ago, but it was a little out of my price range. I tried to find it again on MLSLI and noticed it is no longer listed. I assume it was sold. How can I find out what it sold for - I am curious how much they finally accepted.

zillow.com or domaina.com

Just because its off MLS doesn't mean it sold.

Thanks.

Newsday doesn't have 2008 numbers listed yet.

Property shark didn't give me any real information.

I am not sure Zillow has the most accurate information.

Would the real estate agent be able to give me the information? I have her card. Or is there some kind of conflict of interest.

I think Newsday has a "recent sales" list in their real estate section that shows tells the address and how much the house sold for.

Has anyone here used Realty Trac? How was it? Was it worth the money? Mr. Tom Moser you should know something about this, right?

I don't use Realty Trac and I have access to public record through MLS, so I can't really advise you on that.

To jmax: If you would like to send me a private message with the address, I'd be glad to look it up and tell you what happened to the house that you are curious about.

I have researched and verified many home sales on zillow.com. They have been 100% accurate so far.

I believe that the actual selling prices on Zillow are accurate. But when you look at Zillow's estimates, they can be very well be off 10-20% off. Thats what I have noticed anyways.
