Same here, gibs. VS may be off the rebate list, because as you may recall, the village raised taxes almost 7%, and then the Green Acres PILOT scam raised school taxes from $350 to over $1,000 for some households.
The rebate is intended for communities that stayed within the cap, so obviously we in Valley Stream get hosed three times.

That is not totally right.
STAR has nothing to do with tax cap compliance. A household is entitled to basic STAR on their primary residence if they have a household income under $500,000. That's it.
I DID already receive my "tax freeze" rebate check ($334 IIRC).
This "tax freeze" rebate check depends on whether the applicable taxing entities complied with the tax cap. I am in the Hewlett-Woodmere school district, which did comply with the cap. I am also in the village of Valley Stream, which did not comply with the cap. As a result, while I did get a tax freeze rebate check, the rebate amount was incrementally lower than it would have been if the Village of Valley Stream complied with the cap.
Hewlett-Woodmere SD actually had a zero budget increase. But, in fact, all the other Valley Stream school districts complied with the tax cap, too (SD-13, SD-24 and SD-30).
The Green Acres PILOT mess does not affect Hewlett-Woodmere SD at all, and for those who are affected, I don't think it would endanger their tax freeze checks because all the school budgets were tax cap compliant, i.e., the budgets were kept within the allowable amounts. Green Acres was subsequently taken off the tax rolls and given a PILOT, and that screwed up the level of assessment and resulted in increased tax bills, folks should still get their freeze checks.

I'm in 24 and got nothing from either, so figured it's tough noogies for me this year.
This complex business of taxing with one hand and rebating with the other is getting me sick. It just never ends and I'm in total GT FO mode right now.

You should call Albany and ask about the tax freeze check and SD-24.
As for STAR, if you bought your house before 2015, your STAR rebate should be already built into your property taxes (so no check)
My STAR refund/rebate check finally showed up today. We purchased the home end of June 2015.
